Mauri's passion:

Mauri's passion for music had begun when he was a child. Mauri has played a number of different instruments such as the guitar, piano, drums, bugle and the charango (instrument from Bolivia), but the main instrument that he ended up specialising in was the violin. He has performed in front of big crowds being part of orchestras, a live mass band, as part of a duet when he was young and also participated in musical competitions where he had won 1st prize and 2nd prize for the violin and piano. Ever since the age of 19 Mauri wanted to take his love of music to the next level and after playing at several house parties he was spotted and offered a 2 hour spot at a nightclub in London in the West End.

 

From then his DJ work began and as well as trying to juggle a number of other responsibilities he has managed to DJ at many venues across several cities/towns including Plymouth, London, Tavistock, Exeter, Brighton, Southampton & Bournemouth. DJ Mauri has DJ'd at private functions, charity events, birthday parties, festivals and at nightclubs & bars as well as weekly nights from International Thursday at Firefly to Bailamos bi weekly at Voodoo Lounge. 

 

Radio presenter:

Mauri has contributed a lot to latin music and the latin dance scene in the south west, especially after launching and running a successful regular latin radio show called Viva Latina that was launced back in 2011 with a team of latin radio presenters playing the best mix of latin music from salsa, bachata, merengue and much more to online LIVE audiences every saturday from 3-5pm. This radio show ran for many months hitting high numbers of regular listeners.

Some of DJ Mauri's recent DJ gigs include the Volksfest music festival in Plymouth, regarded as one of South West UK's biggest music festivals as well as the Marazion Carnival in Penzance, Cornwall among the St George's festival in Plymouth.
